The Original House

Woodcocks is a 17th century half-timbered farmhouse, set between the cathedral cities of Gloucester and Hereford. It was  originally part of the Earl of Beauchamp's Madresfield estate. It was sold off along with many other small farms in the area , as well as the Beauchamp Arms in Dymock in the early 1900's.

'The House that John Built'

In order to accommodate guests  at Woodcocks, John started building the extension in the millennium year. He used traditional materials such as, lime mortar, green oak and reclaimed bricks and tiles. This was in order to create a sympathetic wing to the original house, along with the additional comforts of central heating, wood-burners and double glazing.
